For a first time job, its not all that bad, but maybe you could make use of more gradients to create interesting background effects. Also, I find the background color a little too saturated, but that's just my personal taste and it's just a niggling issue. Overall, its quite navigable and does the job right.

Well it's pretty funk. I like it. I guess it could do with a bit more zing, but it's a good first time approach.

I would make the comment that your HOME icon looks like something else though. You could change it for the better.
