zoom tuturial

Greetings,
I've used Flash for some basic animation needs and such and have learned a tad of ActionScript. I am attempting to create an interface for a presentation of several maps, and I need to be able to zoom in (using a rectangular selection if possible). If the rect. selection isn't possible, then panning would be necessary. Is there a tutorial or extension that can ease my woes, and if not, can anyone suggest another resource?

it's not a tutorial but I guess you can learn a lot from these movies.
