Hi, I've just got back from holiday and have experienced a nightmare with my Flash CS4 installation!

Before I went away, I tested a project I'm working, everything worked fine so I backed it all up hoping I could resume work when I return.

However, I just went to open my project and discovered that it will not work.

Flash opens a new tab called UIComponent.as and the compiler errors tab states that I have 29 errors (all relating to the UI Component - not specifically to my project.)

The errors are generally things like :
"1150: The protected attribute can only be used on class property
definitions."
1012: The static attribute may be used only on definitions inside a class.
1114: The public attribute can only be used inside a package.

All of which relate to the UIComponent.

I honestly have no idea what has happened while I was away and I have no idea how to fix it so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks for reading,

eQ

Unless UIComponent.as is one of the files created by you, yes you really should reinstall flash.

I think theres a reset factory default option in Flash CS4 somewhere, that resets everything back to normal...you could try that.
