Please Help!!! with Load External swfs and Trace

I've created a Preloader to load external swfs. It generates fine in Flash 5 and there are no errors in the code but when I view the preloader in Internet Explorer, the information that I've specified in the Preloader to trace (% loaded and time left) on the movieclip instance does not show up on the movieclip in the browser. I can attach the code I'm using if needed. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.
