I want to give a friend of mine a flash presentation for a project, whether its a .swf or a .exe file it doesn't matter.

My only concern is, to make the presentation look good, it has to use the font that I used which definitely is not on my friends' pc or to the rest of her professors. Is there a way for me to have this font be seen on those computers? I have searched and read threads about this and they said was to embed the font.

First of all, how do you do this the right way? I want to use dynamic text as texts since it makes the font really look neat and crisp...I know 1 solution to make the font appear on those pc is to use that font in static type...but it turns so ugly :( I tried that embed thing...click on the text box, then go to properties panel and click on character button, then select 'all characters'...the results, still the same (getting really frustrated)

Some posts said something about linkage in the library, and that you click on 'new font' then add the font there...but then what?

Please I really need someone who can help me out. Is there a way for this? I want those fonts to look exactly like how dynamic texts look. (neat, no smudges, very crisp)

If not, can anyone teach me to let the font be automatically installed in those other computers? Autorun? batchfile? Whatever...I will just include the font in the folder. I just hope for an automatic way for this to be installed to avoid hassles.

What you are talking about is anti-aliasing. This makes a font appear smooth and not jagged around the edges. In order to have crisp edges, you won't embed the font, but it will need to be on the users computer so that they can see it. At which point you choose not to embed the font.

So, your only option would be to install it on the users computer. As far as how that is done, I couldn't tell you...

Good luck.

Thanks, at least now I can accept the fact that you couldn't do pretty much everything with Flash. Thanks for the reply.

I would find go to:

http://www.fontsforflash.com

The idea here is that you use what's called 8pt pixel fonts...every part of the character falls *exactly* on your monitor's pixels. I don't think anti-aliasing is relevant here but certainly "snapping to pixel" is (found under 'view' in MX). Then, whether you use static, dynamic or input text, you must "embed" all characters or portions thereof (from the text properties).

This is just one way to go...I am sure there are other solutions. The cool thing is that you can download some free fonts from the above website to fool around with. There are also other flashfont sites too.

Good luck and feel free to reply if you need some more info. I'm a newb so you mileage may vary! ;)
