Hello. I requested a year or 2 ago a lot of previously impossible things which are now possible within AS3, However... I am still stuck at a rather simple area.

My character is a simple box based character that arms and feet are completely limp due to being stuck on a pole that rotates around screen.

I have previously hand animated this but found it rather repetitive despite altering scenery.

I am wondering if someone could help me with/or direct me too a pendulum style of physics script so the arms and legs swing freely with the body's movement.

Above is the very old concept are but shows the design I am after.

And yes i will be looking into particle simulation as well for the wind and collision on scenery but not until character is moving and working.

Thanks in advance

You can use Box2D to create the rag doll. The body and appendages can be separate bodies. Attach the appendages with joints to the trunk. You can then apply random forces to the the bodies. The appendages will move with the body. The Box2D engine will take care of all of this.
Check out the demos: http://box2dflash.sourceforge.net/

Thanks. Am hoping to keep everything AS3 based. Kinda rougth on edges so adding something new into mix is just going to stop me completely.

Box2D is pure AS3. You really don't need to know much about physics to use it.

Thanks I will spend some time looking into it. I can see myself over complicating things as usual and proberly slowing flash to a crawl when finished :P
