image backgrounds

Hey,
Does anybody know the best way to do this? Would it load faster if I made a transparent flash movie, and used a background attribute in the <td> tagsof the table to show the image, or stuck the image right in the flash movie and didn't make it transparent? Also, regarding images... what is the best format to use? I've been sticking to 72dpi jpgs. Thanks. ~RJ

i guess the .flash will be faster since it puts an extra compression on the image...

I also use 72dpi images so I don't know if there's something better...
