Hi,
This is an embarrassing problem i've had for a long time and i'm fed up with writing overcomplicated script to workaround it. If I create a new flash AS3 file and create two blank keyframes in my actions layer I can add actions to each keyframe separately no problem. I can then easily switch between the actions frames from the menu bar on the left of the actions input panel. However if I try and do this on any of my projects i've been working on for a while when I create a new blank keyframe in the actions layer and try to add actions to it, I get sent straight back to my first actions keyframe and not a nice blank page. Am I missing something blindingly obvious? Can I even apply seperate actions to seperate keyframes? I'm really tearing my hair out over this, any help would be really appreciated

yes you can put actionscript on multiple frames. Could you post up the fla?

Here is the fla file, I haven't created anything on frame 2 yet so basically i'm clicking on the blank frame in the actions layer of frame 2, clicking create blank new keyframe, then trying to apply actions to it.. but no luck :( I'm already cringing at how simple the solution is because I can't find anyone with a similar problem

Sorry about that man. Are you talking about this? I put in a trace statement. Just click your submit button and it will jump to frame 10.

Yes thankyou!!! This is exactly what I was looking for, the only question is how did you manage? Now that you've changed the document I can also create actions on seperate frames but if I use the same method on the old file it still wont let me, did you modify the document settings in any way? I'd love to know how you fixed this for future documents, thanks so much :)

All I did was add frames to frame 10, then clicked on frame 10 and opened up the actions panel and wrote that trace statement. That's all I did; Pretty simple bro :) Hey if I can, I would suggest you pick up ActionScript 3.0 for Adobe Flash CS4 Professional Classroom in a Book (http://www.amazon.com/ActionScript-Adobe-Flash-Professional-Classroom/dp/0321579216). This book is is great. It's my only ActionScript book and I've been studying the material in it faithful. I'm on chapter 13 in the book, and let me tell ya this book has helped me a bunch. Once I'm done with it, I'm going to get Colin Moock's Essential ActionScript 3.0 book. Well like always, if you have any further questions feel free to ask and I'll try my best to give you an answer.
