I am using Windows Vista

I was using FMS 3.5 , but i was told to use Open sorce

can you tell me where error or log files found ?
check image

FMS 3.5 or RED5 neither will work unless firewall rules are set to allow connections on port 1935 Red5 admin will also need port 5080 and if you really need Tomcat port 8080 should be open (your image looks like 8080 is open)
that is the starting point get the ports open :)

somebody at other forum told me to download 0.9Rc1

can you guide what to do further(like apache, jdk ) , so that i can avoid mistakes in installing

I dont know if you need tomcat ? but there is a windows installer http://www.red5.org/downloads/0_8/setup-Red5-0.8.0.exe here it dosent need tomcat, make sure you are logged in to your machine as the administrator before installing. If you havent already installed java you will need to install that first (Java 1.6 SE)
when installing red5 you can choose the folder to install you may be better not to install in program files (just create a new folder on your hard drive)
Now do you want to run a web server on the same machine or your network ?
or can you run your applications from hosting you already have ? your applications will work from any website as long as you configure them to connect to your Red5 server
if you intend to run the webserver from the same machine i would suggest you look at something simple on windows like xampp
let me know and i will try to walk you though this

Firstly i want to test this on my localhost , then i will go to check over web

I dont know Tomcat or apache is necessary , i just want to use my flash applications on Red5 as open source flash server

I have already installed WAMP

as there is not a comprehensive information available over internet , which tell me the basics (i asked at the red5 forum about comprehensive tutorial/details they said we are working hard on our product)

NOW

i have uninstall everything

installed JDK

and installed red 0.8

AND i am stuck on this

check : http://www.awais.jigzyy.com/red5.jpg

it keeps installing , and not stops at all

mr-webcam

try first checking http://localhost:5080
make sure this port isnt being blocked by firewall

revo999
08-24-2009, 11:44 AM
http://localhost:5080/demos/BallControl.html

shows me the demo , but problem is still there

it is not connecting , do i need to set anything any conf files ??

when i click on the button, it remains same means not connecting

mr-webcam

nothing should be changed in any other file
the demo page opens then and tells you red5 is set up correctly ?
this is probably windows vista permissions / firewall issues
or if you have a router make sure that you turn on port fowarding so you open the ports on the router

revo999

no i have no router

Have a look:
installer >> http://www.awais.jigzyy.com/red5-installer.jpg

Look at the top of the page
it is telling you red5 is installed
if you installed as i told youthen your samples should be installed during the red5 install you just need to test them
If you are unable to test and you are not getting the connection it must be due to firewall or antivirus problems
You might also check if a service called red5 is running on your machine if not you have to start red5 from start, programs, red5

when i runs oflaDemo
this error is generated

NetConnection.Connect.Rejected

Can you tell me simple code like "Hello world " for Red5 so that it is easy to check errors on program like hello world
I think there is connection string like problem , which is causing problem (may be there is different problem)

Let me Know simple code like "Hello world" if you know for Red5

how are you trying to test the samples? you had similar problems with FMS :)
open one of the sample fla in flash and test from there or compile it and test from web rather than locally
if this dosnt work pm here and i will try to look deeper for you

thankful to you, but is it recording audio ?

mr-webcam
08-27-2009, 10:30 AM
No user can tell because that application dosent replay, you will have to look in the saved recordings and play them locally
If you want something to test then try this :-
make a folder within red5 oflaDemo call it flv-recorder and make sure that it is writeable then download this application, http://video-email.no-ip.org/flv-recorder-final.zip edit line number 52 of the actionscript puting your red5 server address in there.
then test it

For anyone else interested in this application it will run on FMS and Wowza also, using on these all you need to do is create the folder within the applications directory of fms or wowza and the line 52 to put your own server address in place and remove the oflaDemo section, The code is all client side and no server side code is required

"make a folder within red5 oflaDemo" << what does this mean , is oflademo is basic for all applications to use ?

i have placed the file in : webapps/recorder

and changed to :client_nc.connect("rtmp://localhost/recorder");

error comes :

Client Connect
----------
Level: error Code: NetConnection.Connect.Rejected

Client Connect
----------
Level: status Code: NetConnection.Connect.Closed
