Preloading External Images

Hey there i'm new. Im an actionscript newbee also. I was wondering if I could get some help figuring out how to preload external images.

I making a slide show kind of thing. I want to have small thumbnails. When you click on the thumbnail it displays the external image in the target area. But when the image is really big I want a movie to play in the target saying "loading hang on" till image completely loads.

Welcome aboard, comrade.

First...check in the tutorial section for stuff like this. Preloading, images, preloading images, .jpg and any other keywords you can think of, look for. Browse the movies section. ANd then hit the library. Search using keywords. Search the forums using keywords. There are plenty of resources available.

Second...Do test files to learn what you can. As you go along, questions will arise. This is what we are for.
