Hi guys,

Just a quick legal question, I havn't got a personal lawyer so thought i'd throw it open to you guys!

If I made a hugely successful game, and at the same time sold a sequel. Yet the sequel was never released. If the sponsor were to get an alternate developer to reproduce that sequel, is that therefore breaching any of my copywrights, contracts or ANYTHING? In effect, is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks in advance, much appreciated!

nobody is going to be able to give you a definate answer. It comes down to your contract and what it stated which no one has. Even a lawyer can't give you an answer which is why it goes to court to state your case

If you're serious about it, do your own research and then hire a lawyer. If not, let it go and live life the best you can.

....just .02. I'm sure you'll get a lot of other legal opinions as well.

In the United States, you can sue for anything. Flash is right, you need to get a lawyer. There is a large gray area on this subject, so you're best with a legal professional.

If they are reproducing your work, then yes, it violates copyrights.
