How do you force a displaylist sizes refresh

I have this Hbox that i am populating with components, the components are wdth=0 height=0 at first and then after creation complete they gain a size of let's say w=100 h=100. I need to refresh my display list because my components are all sitting on top each other, i tryed validate now size invalidate etc... nothing is working any ideas ????

If you set a component's width or height the displaylist is automatically refreshed. Perhaps your components are not in the appropriate container?
