hi!
i am having problems with Trace Bitmap. I have flash 5 and when i give command trace bitmap, it takes hell lot of time, and many times the machine hangs.
what are the ideal properties that we can define in trace bitmap box? i mean, how to retain the quality without making size not too big

My suggestion would be don't trace bitmaps. Through heaps of trials I've found that function to be completely and utterly useless. You get a vector graphic 4 times the size of your BMP graphic. You're better off sticking to raster content sometimes and only vectorizing it if you REALLY need to manipulate it like a vector.

but then if i want to use some images , then what should I do? Just import the file.
i have seen flavia cards (flavia.com). They are wonderful animations. how do they do that kind of animations?

You can still animate your imported graphic without breaking it into vectors. You only need to break it if you want to morph it into something. Like when you have a square morph into a circle. If you just want to move it around and use it as a button, leave it just as an imported image.
