Types of non-corporate, technical jobs?

Hey,

Just thought I'd pose this question this morning, while I sit at my desk in an advertising agency about to embark on another week of corporate yuck-mongering...

Aside from working for an advertising agency (either full-time, part-time or freelance) - what other types of jobs are out there for a friendly, non-corporate person with a broad range of technical skills ranging from Flash Actionscripting & other web dev languages, animation, video, design?

Any got any suggestions? (please, just good ones... not smart ass responses like "Go back to the call centre" or "Gigalo") :)

Hospitals, in general, have a little IT staff, which includes a developer for intranet apps, projects, etc. Large consumer stores do as well.
