beyond simple animation

here is the problem:-

i have put up a picture of a walking figure on my site.and though i know how to make it walk(like i need to create separate body parts) , suddenly i had a bright idea of making it sit down, yawn,etc- ie. act like a human.

it would be helpful if u could tell me if there are any good animation-beginner-tutorial sites out there which go beyond the simple stuff.

would be grateful if someone works for free?

nothing like helping a buddy with some animation , right?

What type is this figure? e.g 3D, Cartoon, Photo. Generally this corresponds well with art, so try looking on art websites for drawings and stuff.
