This is a very simple file with a mask and a masked layer. I want to switch these two around ....... make the mask layer the masked layer and vice versa. When I do this then it won't work.
The reason I want to do this is because I don't like how it shows just a solid white line on export (i want maybe a gradient looking line instead of a solid white line).
Any help would be great

OK- here's a working file....I probably did more to this than you even wanted, so feel free to cut stuff, but here's what I did...
1. I increased the framerate (in the properties panel) to make it smoother
2. The lines don't register as a mask, o I went into the Modify>Shape>Convert lines to fills.... menu, and of course switched the layers
3. I removed all of your tweens and turned the gradient into a movie clip. I placed a very simple motion script on that clip (look at it in the actions panel when you select the sphere) which makes it bounce around the screen.
4. I copied this 5 times, so you've got several of them bouncing about under your mask.
Hope you like it!

Thank you very much. That is just what I was looking for. Just out of curiosity, how did you get that grid like that. Like mine was very plain and grid like but your's had more diversity to it
Thanks again

In truth, I actually used the grid that you had made. The only thing I did to it, as mentioned before, was convert the lines to fills. Oh, and I scaled it to cover the stage, so it's a bit larger. Other than that, you did the work! :)
Glad you like the file. The little scripted movie clips seemed much more elegant...
