View Full Version : ActionScript 2 support in Flash CS5?

Are there any beta testers out there who can answer if CS5 has AS2 as an option?

I have over 180 templates which need to be upgraded to AS3, and if CS5 has AS2 I will have some breathing room.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if there is any beta tester around, but I am sure they are not supposed to even say that they are beta testers... The last NDA that I signed said that at least...

My guess is that you will still have an option to use AS1, AS2 and AS3 cuz they are not introducing AS4 yet... Besides that, Flash is trying to provide backward compatibility as much as they can, so I don't see any reason why they choose to take out AS1 or AS2 support... That's my 2 cents...

The last NDA that I signed said that at least...So then you are beta tester and you blew your cover! ;)

Yeah I'll be surprise if CS5 don't support AS2 at least.

I've never said that I was a beta tester... I just said that I signed on an NDA... That's all I said... :p

I agree with your reasoning and hope Adobe does too.

there is an report about Flash CS5 on templatemonster.com (http://blog.templatemonster.com/2010/04/07/flash-cs5-viper-salvation-adobe-creative-suite-5/). And they say, yes AS2 and AS3 will be supported.

I can say that when I open CS5 I get an option to create new file with Actionscript 2.0
