I am first and foremost an ARTIST and i need the assitance of a left brainer.

I need to control my flash movies in the same way a quicktime player control bar works.

It needs:

1) Play button
2) Pause button
3) Slider which allows the user to slide back and forth through the animation and it slides as the movie plays (no fake step thru, realtime)
4) and finally step thru buttons

I know this is a lot and the way i think it would work is loading a movie into a movie, but I would perfer to build it into the animation(s). I got tons of this to do and I don't want to export them as QuickTime movies.

Does this make any sense? Please I really do need some feedback.

First person to get it right will recieve and free oil can of beer!

Howdy... Welcome aboard... :)

First of all... I am not here for the free beer... :D

I don't think you need to convert anything if you have your animation in Flash... All you need is to export your Flash animation to the SWF file, which is the default file format...
Once SWF file is generated, you can create another Flash movie file which will be the holder of all your Flash animations... This movie will have those controller buttons which controls your SWF file after this being loaded into the holder movieclip... and the controllers will control the timeline of that holder movieclip...

That was basic information of how you would go about it... I am not sure if you are good at ActionScript or not, but try it... It will be challenging... Brain can shift, you know, the example would be me... :)

Let us know if you need more information... :)
