Dynamic text disappears in movie with static text of same font

I have a dynamic text field thats in a small, content FLA/SWF. I embed the font (Verdana Bold) and it comes out fine.

The application where I wind up embedding/importing the content SWF also uses the same exact text in a static text field. At any rate, when the content SWF is embedded, imported or loaded into the application SWF, the dynamic text in the content SWF disappears.

Has anyone ever run into this issue? I've Googled for hours. I have to use Verdana Bold across the board, I'm afraid. Not sure what causes this or what a good workaround is.

try placing a dynamic text field on the stage with all the characters you want to use in it in the font and size you want to use and drag it off the viewable area... used to be an hold hack this.

which method are you using to embed? is the font in your library, which embeds all the characters or are you embedding certain characters using the 'character embedding' button through dynamic text box? When you add the Font to the library, you'll need to pick the font from list that has the *.

maybe one of the attachments could help.
good luck, i've spent many an hour messing with embedding it's tricky and frustrating at times, but when it works wow it's sweet.
