I'm using Flash 5 - when I create a rollover button object with text on it, I find that the text "interferes" with the button, i.e. when you roll the cursor over it and expect the little hand to appear, it only works over portions of the button not occupied by the text box. I've gotten around this by making the graphic parts of the button alpha-translucent and putting the text on a layer underneath, but I find this irritating. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

Hi there
Your problem comes from the fact that you do not have a solid shape on the 'hit' frame of your button. Consequently when the mouse rolls over your button, the 'hit' area is the text only, not the spaces in between.
To fix this, edit your button by placing a keyframe on the 'hit' frame and then use the rectangle tool to draw a shape that covers all of your text.
Should fix it!:)
