Hi,

I'm using Insert -> Media -> Flash to bring a small swf into Dreamweaver and I'm having a lot of trouble. I upload my files (checked my paths), and my page loads with an empty box with a red x where the swf should be, and the message at the top of the browser that says "Internet Explorer has restricted this website from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer..." I've tried a variety of ways to insert the swf in Dreamweaver that I've found suggested on various sites, and nothing is working for me. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. :(

You're not doing anything wrong, pal. The problem is that Internet Explorer automatically blocks so-called "Active-X objects" since they could be viruses. The problem is that plugins like Macromedia Flash and Sun Java are Active-X Objects, and you have to give them access manually, by clicking the yellow bar that pops up to warn you. Then you can select that you want to allow it.
