loadVariable won't do html links

I'm trying to use loadVariable to bring a txt file into a dynamic text field. It will work, but if I put an href in my txt, everything after that point will disapear. If I turn HTML off for the dynamic text field, everything shows up, so I know it's a rendering problem. I read elsewhere that I have to turn off text embed, but it doesn't seem to be on. I'm on flash 5. If anyone could tell me how to make the link work, I'll be most grateful. thanks.

hey, thanks for the help. I promise not to email you...
I got the href to work, so that's great, but everything after the link still goes invisible! It's a problem I can work around, but it would be nice if someone could explain why this happens. thanks again

do you have an & symbol or anything like that in the text?
