a general question about masks

Is there any way of creating motion guides underneath masked areas??

The way I think you mean it : I don't see why not. With what purpose ? What are you trying to achieve ? Just movement along a path under a mask ?

i dont have any specific reason to ask i just was trying things out the other day and realised that if you add a motion guide to your movie that there seems to be no way of masking it afterwards.

Sorry, you just lost me ... When you add a motion guide to something, you can't mask it ? I didn't knew that ...
