Hi guys. I got one image 720 KB and I am animating it from point A to point B over 100 frames. When I export it to swf I get 189kb. This is fine, but when i export it to .mov I get 82mb. Is this right? Have I missed a check box or something?

I am never called on to export stuff to .mov so this is a new one for me.

Flash was never great with MOV export or any other export if you ask me... Not that I had many occasions, but I remember using other tools to convert SWF to what I needed...

Anything you can point me to? I am afraid if I google all I am going to see is what is normally spammed on these forums lol

Well, what's spammed on the forum are not all bad... It's just those marketing people in that company who are bad... ;)

I think I have used Moy34 SWF To Video Converter for that... I don't know the details on that though cuz my designer partner did the actual conversion but that's the tool he used...

If you have Quicktime Pro, you could try to open up the SWF and export to MOV... I haven't tried it myself, but I think you can do that as well...

Found that if I change the compressions option from animation to mpeg4 this greatly reduces the files size with little effect on the quality.

Thanks for the help

It all boils down to how big the file is and how good the quality is... Glad to hear that you've found the magic number... ;)
