Do you like Marcus Miller?

Never heard of him..who is he?

Headshotz
12-12-2005, 08:26 AM
Bassist, very good.

Headshotz
12-12-2005, 08:26 AM
Try and find something by him and listen to it.

Cota
12-12-2005, 08:35 AM
I will give him a listen tomorrow....currently taking 5 from a project and listenign to Korn (Untouchables)..great album....

Headshotz
12-12-2005, 08:38 AM
Yes... I am eating corn while listening to Korn, I dont know why.

Ruben
12-12-2005, 07:10 PM
Untouchables isn't that great if you compare it to Follow the leader or Life is peachy (even better). I feel like they really got stuck somewhere with Untouchables, or any album after Issues for that matter, each and every album after that one had songs that practically all sound the same...

Cota

There is a lot of similar songs in the newer albums, but I love the melodic driving basslines.

That's not a song, it's a saying; I invented it

...oh and something else bluegel, don't even think about hijacking this thread, I hate it when someone does that

...That's my point, you don't go cycling in the middle of the street, then pick up someone you know and ring the bell twice when you see the traffic-lights?

;) - Ruben

PS. Bluegel, you do know I'm merely kidding, don't you?

Cota
12-12-2005, 11:58 PM
I have the earlier albums, they were slamming...but as I get a little older, I'm getting mellow...

You know that translates to "Death to the white man", did you know that or are you trying to make a point?Hahaha, I'm still waiting for the homeyz to show up wearing black pointed caps shouting "Whiteyz f_ck off and go back to your own country!" :p

I have the earlier albums, they were slamming...but as I get a little older, I'm getting mellow...Right now I'm listening to the bonus disk of Korn's latest album (See you on the other side). I'm not all that impressed, it's sort of listening to one of them midi-files for your cellphone

:( - Ruben

Cota
12-13-2005, 01:23 PM
I havent heard their newest album yet....and from the way you make it sound, guess I wont be hearing it anytime soon.

Ruben
12-13-2005, 02:03 PM
Do note that I only listened to the bonusdisk, I couldn't find the album itself... I'll tell you what it sounds like when I get my hands on it...

I just went under my desk to plug in this new anti-voltage overload thingamijig (because of all the storms), and for some strange reason, a cd which I haven't seen for ages was sitting neatly aligned infront of the powerpoint.

Very strange.

Cota
12-14-2005, 01:33 PM
Which CD was it....that may be why it was there..

tg
12-14-2005, 05:31 PM
been listening to alot of kings of leon lately.... like all their stuff from both their albums.

Cota
12-14-2005, 06:39 PM
Never heard of Kings of Leon.....I'm on StaticX at the moment.

Ruben
12-14-2005, 06:44 PM
A good friend of mine listens to kingsofleon alot I think, he once sent me this song called Molley's hangover (I'm not 100% positive it was by that band though), didn't really like it...

StaticX is okay, I've got Shadow zone (the album), at first it sounded great but I guess it was just another one of those getsboringaftersomanytimes-albums... every once in a while I dig it up again and turn it off halfway, the song Monster's awesome though..

- Ruben

Cota
12-14-2005, 06:58 PM
StaticX - Great Wisonson Death Trip.....thats a great album...but it can get boring after awhile..

Ruben
12-14-2005, 07:37 PM
I'll look out for it. I'm currently enjoying the lyric intelligence of Beyond the valley of the Murderdolls

- Ruben

PS. I'll grab her by the hair... ...and swing her in the air... twist my twist my twist my sister twist my twist my twist my sister

Headshotz
12-14-2005, 11:46 PM
Which CD was it....that may be why it was there..

It was Master of Puppets, Metallica. I thought I lost it and every other day that I have looked down there it hasnt been there, wtf, where did it come from???

Ruben
12-14-2005, 11:50 PM
Good song, I like the M&S (no not S&M you pervert) version of Master of puppets. Metallica kicks ass but pretty much the same goes for them as what I said about that one StaticX album...

At Cota; talking about lyrics, right now I'm listening to this song by a dutch band, the guy sings about meeting a girl he knew from highschool in the red light district and trying to convince her that it really was the shortest way to the supermarket, hehe

;) - Ruben

Cota

The ghost of Cliff Burton put it there...

That would explain the note, it reads as following:

Dear Headshotz, if that is your real name,

I AM THE GHOST OF CLIFF BURTON, DAMMIT, CAN I MAKE IT ANY MORE CLEAR, YES, I AM A GHOST

Im still having trouble translating it all.

Cota
12-17-2005, 06:55 PM
I'm telling, his ghost is everywhere...

G3M3NI
12-17-2005, 09:29 PM
Cliff Burton is the bass player from metallica?

Cota
12-17-2005, 09:30 PM

G3M3NI
12-17-2005, 09:33 PM
Ouch, never trust public transportation

Who was the one that was shot on stage? Guitarist?

Cota
12-17-2005, 09:42 PM
That was Dimebag Darrel formerly of Pantera, was with DamagePlan when he was shot.

Headshotz
12-18-2005, 08:56 AM

Yeah let's talk about dead music-icons; my all time favie's Kurt Cocain, erm Cobain...sorry. I was recently told he shot himself with a light-weight gun so his brain wouldn't splatter all over the place, interesting theory I'd say...

Ruben
12-18-2005, 02:03 PM
I just remembered; I was at this Peter Pan Speedrock (peterpanspeedrock.nl/) gig yesterdaynight, damnit was that awesome!! Those guys actually sound better on stage then on their albums. Doubt if any of you guys have ever heard of 'em (maybe linckx?). Anyway, they ROCKED.
This morning I came out of bed and my parents thought I had either gone into some sorta hellish fight with skinheads or I had sex with some girl who liked... oh well. :)
Hope my muscles will be less sore tomorrow.. my back looks ridiculously blue and scratched as well

;) - Ruben

Cota
12-18-2005, 09:48 PM
All in all it sounds like a good night....though a fight with some skinheads sounds fun too...

Ruben
12-18-2005, 10:05 PM
I wouldn't mind having been in the situation my parents guessed at either

 - Ruben

PS. The place was kinda crowded with them boldies though, 2 of them went into a fight with eachother. Funny thing however was that the one who started it punched it like a girlie :o

Cota

Cota
12-22-2005, 05:33 PM
Why bother translating bad music into an annoying language.

Ruben
12-22-2005, 06:07 PM
It's not all that bad, I said it was rap, not hiphop.

- Ruben

Cota
12-22-2005, 06:30 PM
There's a difference between the two?

Ruben
12-22-2005, 08:07 PM
Rap is rhyming on the beat when you got something to say. Hiphop is bragging about having sexual intercourse with (may or may not be multiple) female afro-americans (quite frequently referred to as "biatchiz" or "howz") and calling it music, often socially unaccepted when practised by white people (a.k.a. "whiteyz") *

Headshotz, how can't you remember Bain? He was the lead-character in the whole movie, he was the one who fought Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze. He was Robin's partner, the guy wearing the bat-mask, you know, the guy who in reality was Bruce Wayne?...

Bumpity bump the monster thread

So, I used a sound editor to play Stairway backwards again today, I know you have all probably heard it before but damn its weird, what words can you make out of it?

Ruben
12-29-2005, 10:26 AM
The part where he sings:if there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now, it's just a spring clean for the May queen. Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run there's still time to change the road you're on.

...is this when played backwards:Oh here's to my sweet Satan. The one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is satan. He'll give those with him 666, there was a little toolshed where he made us suffer, sad Satan.

I must say it's not really clear, but still some nifty stuff ;) There are some more of those classic with supposedly satanic messages in 'em, like Hotel California by The Eagles. There's this guy who has put all of it together with reversed lyrics etc (http://jeffmilner.com/backmasking.htm).

:) - Ruben

Headshotz
12-30-2005, 02:50 AM

I remember a metallica one that had some weird message. Do you have the link Ruben?

Ruben
12-31-2005, 11:16 AM
Whahaha, it strikes me as a little odd that people tend to look at me for those things, hehehe. Anyway, I did some quick searches and this is all I could find about backwards messages in metallica-songs:

http://library.thinkquest.org/28162/audio.htmlMetallica, another metal band, has supposedly embedded words phonetically into their songs. This had been well documented at a web site called Acillatem, but it has unfortunately disappeared from the web.

Furthermore I read something about backwards messages in Beatles-songs, of which the page had 'Metallica' and 'Sad but true' in its title. So you might wanna try listening to that song reversed...

...and that's all I could find, guess some people don't want you to know about it, might even be a conspiracy :p

Not Metallica-related, but this is also a good article on subliminal (and backward) messaging in movies and music and the like:

http://voice.paly.net/view_story.php?id=2399In the late 1950s, an experiment was performed that would affect the world, even though it went relatively unnoticed. In Fort Lee, New Jersey, a movie theater ran the messages "Eat Popcorn" and "Drink Coke" every five seconds throughout the movies they showed. In six weeks, the sales of Coca-Cola went up 18 percent while popcorn sales rose an astronomical 58 percent.

- Ruben

EDIT: Woo! Well here you go, right after I clicked the submit-button my eye got caught by the last google result on the page:

http://baronofdeseret.typepad.com/baronblog/2004/07/evil_music_part.htmlwhen you play exit light backwards in entersand man he says Yeah, I love Satan. There you go  ...but on the other hand, on the same page someone claims:No, Metallica did not backward mask "I love Satan"

Oh yeah!! Face melting guitar solos!! :D

I agree. You should listen to Greenday when you are around 14 years old till you are about 16 (You know, the depressed years ;))... After that, there should definately be some kind of progressive rock band influence in your life...(Dreamtheater) or some classical music.

Its just good for you.... Oh, and dont forget the metal stage...!! Very important! nyack nyack!

After you've passed the stage of rock and metal being cool (some point between the ages of 16 and 18) you should definitely (and I repeat; definitely) switch over to rap/hiphop and not dare to set foot near anything rock again in your life (for the sake of being socially-accepted). Moreover you should really make an effort trying to look down onto anybody who likes that disgusting filthy music, and make sure you look down in pity... yes.

Hey Cota man, we should really introduce those robotic things for being worn on the face (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:7of9.jpg) to the cruddist-pulgrims... it'd look really cool, I recogn.

And while we're at the subject; oh my god, that borg-queen chick (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:BorgQueen.jpg), she's freakin awesome, dang she's HOT! ..and, which is a real big plus; she can seperate her head (incl. shoulders and spine) from the rest of her body, wish I could be able to do sh:t like that...

No way man! 7uf9's just another one of those insecure borg-babies that think they can phone you twice every 14 minutes just in order for you to tell 'em you don't think they're fat and you do like being with them...
The Burgqueen rocks, who wouldn't want a girl that has a spinalseperation-compatible body?

- Ruben

Cota

Yes, the being with the borg queen could provide some interesting stories, but 7 of 9 had real body parts...not robotic ones.

Ruben
01-06-2006, 06:52 PM
...so? What's your point? I mean, I wouldn't mind eating cookies or picking apples with a semi-robotic female. Plus it's the power that turns me on for suuuure, hell yeah, I wouldn't mind being enslaved by a flexi-spinal.. no no no.
