I just wanted to go to that really good steakhouse again. I ordered an $80 steak and mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
$80 steak??? Did they let you pick the cow you wanted killed before you ate it?
Headshotz
01-13-2006, 04:03 AM
Hell yes :p
Best steak ever ;)

Hi everybody:)
Gday and welcome to the forums :)
@Ruben: Before I open that link tell me, is it gonna be weird or disgusting (by average human standards)
Ruben
01-17-2006, 11:30 AM
...would I place a link like that? Of course it's none of what you mentioned.
;) - Ruben
EDIT: PS. Hey audeemirza, a warm welcome to you. :)
Ah yes, alittle MSI in the morning really gets the blood going..
Ruben
01-17-2006, 12:59 PM
Indeed it dus my frund
- Ruben
So where have you been hiding Ruben? More secret Cruddist meetings in the Europe branch?
Ruben
01-17-2006, 07:14 PM
Yeah man, we drink eachothers blood and spit in garbagebins as a way of marking our territory... so yeah, what can I say... :p
Honestly, I'm busy as hell trying to get my folio-site ready in time for the deadline, which I shuffed into friday the 3rd of february instead of next friday, hehe...
:) - Ruben
I can relate..I'm about to give up on Technology crap, cause it sucks here in the states, and go to my second love....making cars go faster than they should.
Ruben
01-17-2006, 07:47 PM
Heretic! Ahhh!! Crusify him! Get him, get the betrayer!! Hey, you're still gonna stick around at the forums right? Pwetty please?
 - Ruben
I'm still going to do Flash projects, cruddist rituals, and some programming, just not for a living..make it a hobby..
Ruben
01-17-2006, 07:56 PM
Cool. Very cool indeed. So are you gonna be starting for yourself or will you get employed by some fat lazy bastard son-of-a-bitch boss whose only talent is that he's capable of scratching his hairy and juicy back whilst at the same time lying to you by stating he's in fact your real father..?
 - Ruben
My cousin and I will be starting it ourselves. He's a life long mechanic and like me, he's tired of making other people rich..
Ruben
01-17-2006, 08:06 PM
Think you'll be able to put up with 'em? I wouldn't wanna think of starting a business with anyone in my family ;) Oh anyhow, it's like the 50ct a year earning guy said: "Get ditched or die driving.", hey, wait, or was it..?
- Ruben
We've been working on cars together for years..the biggest problem is getting a business loan from a bank...anyone want to give me money..?
Ruben
01-17-2006, 08:33 PM
Hahahaha, you can have the spiderswebs and semi-eaten butterflies from my wallet... And that's me being generous, I was just about to eat them..
 - Ruben

well get as much as you can from family and friends so you don't have to take out much of a loan. Can borrow money against your house if you had to, as a last option. You can look into potential investors but that lessons your stake in the company. Once you have a solid business plan around you should be able to shop the idea. If you plan it well, they will come.
I just spent a week and half writting a business plan...so far its rock solid. I dont technically own my house...though I pay the mortgage. I spent some time today talking with 2 banks..so far, no money in pocket isnt looking to be that much of a problem.

Hm... I always heard that make-my-car-go-faster business has its own client base, so I am sure you'll do good, Cota... Good luck... :)
I might jump out of the ship some day, but not right at this moment... Not until I have some hair left... :D

01-18-2006, 04:09 AM
My A6 is a lovely car but its lacking in power, because its a heavy car you can feel it lagging when accelerating.
Maybe you can stick a 7 litre engine in it? :p
CyanBlue
01-18-2006, 04:11 AM
Try using a crazy glue... Just apply lots of them to the accelerator and your shoes... :D
Headshotz
01-18-2006, 04:13 AM

I love programming, photoshop, and design...but the market just keeps getting smaller and smaller...there have been some major changes at home, combined with the fact that I'm tired of making other people rich...cars are my second love...there is a large market for that, it wont be going away. Plus, I'm going to get certified in Hybrid Engine repair/rebuild. Not many mechanics have that or think its worth it.
BadBadNeil
01-18-2006, 06:21 AM
Very competitive though, I know two owners of auto performance shops here in CT and they've both told me how tough it is. In fact a couple performance shops here in CT have closed. One of the bigger ones XX Tuning has done things right, they host meets for local enthusiasts, have a built in dyno with dyno days, track meets, and last year they moved into a new building. Not sure if you are doing performance though or just general auto repair.
Good that you got a solid business plan together, hope it goes well.
There have been a few by me as well, all but 2 have closed..The ones that are still open, one of them does garbage work, but they have contracts with the ford dealers around here, so...the other one is owned by some rich guy, so it will never fail....Both of them do crappy work and really do nothing more than body work...rims, body kits..nothing more...I'm aiming for something like Cervini's or Saleen. Complete body and engine modification.
Ruben
01-18-2006, 09:58 AM
All sounds good, have you talked to someone like a financial advisor or lawyer of some kind?
 - Ruben
I've been talking with a few friends who are financial advisors at different banks..and besides, if they try to screw me over...I'll just put the pink hat on and start laying down the law...
Ruben
01-18-2006, 07:45 PM
Hjippie-freakin-kayaye is what I say to that ;) Anyway, I wish you good luck, hope it works out for you, and I'm sure it will..
:) - ruben
I hope it works for me too...if not I think my wife will leave me...I've been driving her nuts with this stuff for like a week already..
Ruben
01-18-2006, 08:03 PM
When did you decide to 'get out' then?
 - Ruben
I've been wanting to for awhile...since outsourcing in the U.S. is getting out of control. The Tech market really sucks here, so I'm trying to get out while I still have the money to back it up...

I don't have my driverslicence (yet?), but back when my cd/mp3 player was still working I used to love playing slipknot or system of a down when cycling, although I kind of hate music when cycling through crowded places and stuff, kind of f_cks up the focus..

If im cruising and/or sleeping at the wheel, Ill be listening to Marcus Miller or something loud and bassy.
If Im in a running down gay people mood, Ill probably play some Metallica, Seek and destroy, Ride the lightning, Master of puppets, you know, the things that you play when you run down gay people
----------
^^
Just kidding, Im not that good of a driver to do those things ;)
Ruben
01-25-2006, 11:03 AM
Bwuahahahaha, yea, you'd probably end up running down traffic-signs and having gay people shouting at you "Hey! You almost got me killed!", and then you'd smack yourself on the head while thinking "damnit, almost!"...
 - Ruben
DISCLAIMER: Of course no offence to anybody, I couldn't give two sh:tes if you were heterosexual, gay, or something else... like erm, I dunno..something else.

Ruben
01-29-2006, 10:53 AM
Proffessor on crack once explained to me his theory; if spidermonkeys could be taught to speak their first words would be "ima widow"..
- Ruben
Spidermonkies.....little bastards....Yeah, thats all I got on that subject. So how about those new Motograter songs? anyone heard them yet?
Ruben
01-29-2006, 09:47 PM
Motograter didn't really appeal to me, thought it was a little too soft. Anyone ever heard of buckethead? A friend of mine sent me a coupl'a songs, sounded good I recogn..
- Ruben
I've heard of them, but I never listened to their music.

PS. By the way, anyone seen Constantine yet?
Because its your thread.....You now own it. Hahahahaa

Change of subject: does anybody think the thread its title kind of not covers the load anymore?

I think the thread has out grown its title. The last 200 pages have to be you and I easily talking about unrelated nonsense...but it was entertaining.

Time is relative my friend....man made concept and method of control. Like religion it is meant to lead our brains to the idea that life is limited and bound by time and the fear of some higher power. Damn...that sounded good...

if I've said it once, I've said it a million times, its because nobody likes Frank...
Ruben
02-10-2006, 05:22 PM
Ahahaha, yea, it's true; what Ian says goes. I don't think I should tell you the Franky-story, it's kind of embarresing (for him ;)).
- Ruben
oh then I definetly want to hear it..
Ruben
02-10-2006, 07:45 PM
Hehehe, some people might find it offensive, and I kind of feel sorry for him... ahahahaha.
 - Ruben
Since when do you have concern for other people's feelings?
Ruben
02-10-2006, 08:19 PM
Hey, Ima sensitive guy, I care and I try to be nice to people...erm, no I'm not.. well f_ck it; the guy got punched on the face by this guy who was like one head shorter then he was, the guy had his wallet-chain fastened around his fist, Franky kinda lost it, screamed and cried and finally sat down in some corner of the schoolyard... or so the story goes..
 - Ruben
Thats funny....so Frank is a little girly..
Ruben
02-10-2006, 08:28 PM
Trying to stick to the thread-title here; you know that song by Meatloaf? 'You took the words right out of my mouth'?
:o - Ruben

Ahhh, sorry man, it's just that school and all that nonsense is still gnawing all the spare-time off my balls, it's so uberly ridiculous that'd you'd probably laugh really hard if you'd have a look at my daily schedule, it's pretty much like; get up at 8 or 9, shower, breakfast and sh!te, then start doing stuff for school, have dinner around 7 or 8 (pm) while watching some tele for about an hour (or 2) and then do a little more school-stuff and go to bed around 12... :( Saddest part is that I'm also working on it during the weekends, no other way to get it done in time..
I really look forward to having this project behind my ass, it's consuming me...
Anyways, good to hear you people are still around, Cota, how is the car-thing going?

Als we samenwerken zijn we sterker
Beste vriend
En we eten graag een hapje
Da`s verdiend
Kijk uit wij zijn de probleembrigade
Hamtaro
Kleine hamsters, grote avonturen
Laura gaat naar school en dan gaan wij naar onze club
Zijn er dan problemen nou dan is het snel hup-hup
Kijk uit voor de kat want hij ligt constant op de loer
Maar als we samenwerken kan ie geen mallemoer

While working - nothing beats classical/ambiental music... so anything composed by Mozzart, Vivaldi, Paganinni (personal favorite), Yanni, Enigma, Era, Deep Forest, Dead Can Dance, Sacred Spirit, Adiemus, Oliver Shanti, Vangelis, Klaus Badelt (another personal favorite, watch for this guy - he'll send his tutor Zimmer to pension ;) - did a great job on Pirates of the Caribbean and outstanding on The Time Machine), Mark Knopfler, Hans Zimmer, Andreas Vollenweider, Bill Wheelan etc. etc. can go under 'i love this song'...
Apart from work-time, I mainly listen to Sarah Brightman, Loreena McKennit, Akira Yamaoka, Mano Negra (well, mainly Manu Chao), R.E.M., RHCP, Eric Clapton, Blind Guardian, Rammstein, Iron Maiden, Orthodox Celts, Jamiroquai, and several others 'local' artists/bands that doesn't mean much to people living ouside Balkans...
Currently - Sarah Brightman - Ghost in the machinery ... And I love it ;)

Question, what's good music for me when I'm in a really terribly sad mood? I would go listen to Eels or AFI, which is good for easing my mind, but it doesn't make me all that more happy.. On the other side, listening to bright music when in a sad mood sucks even more..

Well, linckx, the lyrics you mentioned in that post at the top of page 93 (http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showpost.php3?p=169709&postcount=921) are actually from the song 1/2 & 1/2, from the Blade soundtrack.
I don't know if you still listen to that song like you said you did 3 years ago, but, if you do, that's the title of the song.
P.S. Ruben, ya' look urban.
