You heard that rumor too...I hear its because of the low graduation rates of clown schools...totalyl effecting the tomato population

Ruben
03-21-2007, 07:10 PM
Exactly, I didn't want to get into detail, but now that you're mentioning it; On top of low graduation rates at clown-schools, it's also a big factor that talentless clowns without a diploma nowadays (as opposed to in the old days) don't perform anymore, which lessens the need for tomatoes to be thrown (among with eggs and red-haired babies) towards the stage.. Alas, you get the idea.

Hey, Noct it's no big deal listening to old music.

I think you misunderstood my post, I wasn't remarking on the age of the music.
I mentioned TS after my comment, which is an older band then Extreme.
I listen to loads of old stuff, including music my parents grew up with, (I'm listening to the best of Jim Croce as we speak, which I learned from my parents) and while I don't get much into it any more, there was a period where I loved classical. (Especially when I first saw Clockwork Orange as a teenager). I also took piano lessons for about ten years, so believe me, classical music is not a foriegn concept to me.

Besides, I was only joking around anyways, mainly because my circle of friends were headbangers during that era, and Extreme was just the brunt of a lot of jokes back then. I just thought it was funny to see there name again, I haven't heard anyone talk posotively about them, well...ever really...

Cota
05-29-2007, 09:35 PM
Agreed! They were great for jokes...but I still contend that was a good album.

Noct
05-29-2007, 10:53 PM
Heh, well at least someone gets what I was saying... It really wasn't meant to be any kind of a slam, it just made me laugh...I think you had to be there when they were "around" to get the joke. For the younger guys here, imagine telling someone today that your a huge fan of Like Nick Lachey or something... (While I'm sure he has his share of fans, most people would probably not admit it outloud)

Anyways, I can't say as I ever heard any Extreme other then "More then Words", but that song makes me want to hurt myself.

I wiki'd it just to make sure it wasn't on the album you were talking about (which as you know, it's not), and apparently you aren't the only one who thinks that one album is pretty good. They make direct mention of how complex, ambitious, and underrated it is, and how the critics loved it at the time.

Granted, those pages are written by fans, but that one makes direct mention of critics opinions of that album, I doubt there are ANY critically acclaimed TS's albums. =P

Just to level the field and publically embarass myself...I own at least one album from each of the following bands:
EMF
The Bee Gees
Neil Diamond
Heart

And right now as I write this, I am listening to the soundtrack to Flash Gordon. (One of my all time favorite albums)

enjoy...

When Britney came out with 'Toxic,' I did not like it much and never bothered to listen to the lyrics! When I heard Yael's rendition of 'Toxic,' I definitely overlooked the lyrical aspect of the song!

This is a nicely written song!
