Simple question re:dynamic text

I'm calling up text with simple actionscript attached to a button. When the mouse rolls over the button, it displays some text on screen. This works fine but I can't seem to find a way to put a solid background in the dynamic text field.

Help please.

click on the text box and then click on the "show border and background" button in the property inspector

I tried that, the frame & background stays on screen & the text pop's up with the rollover. I need both to pop up.
