how to connect a mysql database to a game environment?

Does any know how to connect a mysql database to a game environment done in action script 2. I was told php was the go between to connect it. So you would have to know as2, mysql and php. Possible employment to someone with the know how. Thanks!

Yes, it is mandatory to use a server side language in between to connect database, you have to choose from the list like php, .net jsp etc.
