after clicking on the door... a series of loops comes in the two different colors and then twines come-in..

how did they do that?

The easy way to do it is probably by using a guide layer, if it's for those dotted linie thingies... :)

sorry.. i was not clear.. i meant the dotted lines and the twines..

i was trying to do the effect in guided layers... not very successful? any ideas on how to proceed..
I don't want to do it in mask, as we need to create a keyframe at every curve/ bend

am attaching a sample file.. it just contains the basic lines/ twines.. that I need.

I have tried to make complex animated masks before and agree with you. It's not fun. :( I wish I knew an easier way, it could be used to animate a signature as well.
