Simple tell target question

I want replace movies with tell target or something else, but let the mc on stage fade out or something before the new mc enters the stage.

Can I do that with the "else" command ? ( isn't that what's its called ? )

Please excuse my poor knowledge of Action script. If there's a tut or fla I can download, that will be good too.

I'm still using Flash 5, at least for another week or two. But the page is bookmarked and I'll return to it when I have MX.

same concept would be easy to achieve with flash 5 scripting

I finally got around to try this tut in Flash 5, I have MX, but it runs poorly on my old Mac. ( new Macs out on monday... yeah.. )

The only thing I didn't get was giving the buttons an instance ? Isn't it only the MCs that can have an instance ?

in mx you can give buttons and text boxes instance names as well
