I like that song, but only in small doses.

And Christina Aguilera, hum, I don't think she's done anything better/funnier than I'm a genie in a bottle and Nobody wants to be lonely. Actually, the duo with Fred Durst at the MTV music awards was pretty funny too :rolleyes:

Okay, now you've unleashed it :D ...

I don't like any songs by Christina Aguilera or any other song afilliated with Idols of any nation ... it has nothing to do with the music itself except that I really don't like that 'produced' sound. Christina herself is okay. She's a really good singer who has a tremendous 'reach'. A shame that most songs aren't that good.

Britney Spears about the same thing, but she isn't that good a singer compared to Christina. Excellent performer though ... but make up your mind ! what do you wanna be ? The innocent girl or the horny babe ? *ah, what do I care ... my tv has a 'mute' button ! :D *

I don't like songs you hear all day long on TMF *which we have, Belgium, but I dunno bout the rest of the world*, MTV, the box etc.

I don't like any songs where rappers keep stating how cool they are and that they can get any woman they want. Really, if you were all that, you wouldn't have to tell us. We'd know. With female singers / rappers the same thing, but there aren't as many of those (I only know this one woman who's name I keep forgetting. She also was in the theme song of "Moulin rouge", "Lady Marmalade" and one song of her "How Many Licks Does It Take to Get to the Centre of It ?")

I don't like 'covers' ... unless the original was crappy and the revision is nice. But often, it isn't. In this area, I especially dislike Madhouse ! They only cover Madonna songs, put a stronger bass under it and have the girl sing the lines again... *sigh*

I don't like songs that only have 4 lines and a matching dance routine.

I don't like music where you have a guy behind a synthesizer and some babe singing lines we've heared a million times (sometimes with a guy who goes like "Yeah ! Come on ! Yeah !")

I don't like music clips where you have a tunnel effect. Almost EVERY R&B / rap clip had it for a while and often you still see it. Bleh !

There's lotsa other music I don't like either, but at the moment I'm done babbling ! *just leaving some for replies ;)*

Bishop! The coolest piece I think.

And what you say about the music you don't like... You took the words out of my mouth!

But sometimes there are covers as cool as the original, ie: Starway to heaven performed by Frank Zappa or Wish you where here performed by Radiohead or You have to hide you love away performed by Eddie Veder.

Don't you think? ;)

Yes, there are some very good covers out there. eg, I'm not a Robbie Willaims fan, but he does an excellent "Jack the Knive" (but noone beats Frank 'the Voice' Sinatra ofcourse (as of yet))

I also liked Freddy Mercury's "Too Much Love Will Kiil You" (if that's the title. Original by MeatLoaf I think?)

Then again, I thought for weeks that "Not an Addict" was a song by Garbage, until I saw K's Choice at Low Lands and everybody was looking at me like I was a retarded when I asked about it :rolleyes:. That, or because I just crawled out of the orange peels dumpster ...

hmm ... I have no preference myself. I think knights are handier in the beginnig, but bishops in the aftermath. (also nice to cover entire lines, preferable targeting rooks right away ;))

BTW, Rubén Blades have a great cover (salsa style, of course )of that song too, called "Pedro Navaja".

I'm not very good at chess either... keep losing to my father. It usually goes like this with me : I play a strong game, then get ahead by an important piece, think I see a check-mate in 5 or so, miss one move and end up losing an important piece to my strategy or even a check-mate ... grrr ... I think it's usually a lack of concentration. (one of the downsides of videogames, you seem to get the attention span of a kitten and ...)

I've gotta say that the queen is the best player on the board, not the knight cos the knight has limited moves.

you'd think you guys would be good at chess, but what you've said so far, sounds like you suck at it!

I only play when I'm at home with my dad or go out to visit my godfather in spain, its the best time to actually spend quality time with my dad etc. Only cos, my dad has a tendancy to think I wanna be with my mum for some reason even though I'm a daddy's girl

And I suck at chess. I had Chessmaster 3000 and I kept losing to Cindy, who had no more than 3 Elo points. Bummer.

It's easy to beat a queen player. Just trade in your queen for your opponents queen.
