Hey guys,
I am starting up a business and I'm creating a website using Flash Professional CS5. This is my first time using the program so I know pretty much nothing about AS3 or any kind of coding for that matter. I'm quick at picking up things that have to do with computers. So, getting to the point, here's my problem. I have absolutely no idea how to implement the HTML code that Google Checkout has given me into my flash website. If not Google Checkout, then I want to use PayPal (I don't think that really makes a difference to you guys, but just saying...). I'm in desperate need of help so a quick response would be so much appreciated.

Thank you!!!

Never used Flash before but contemplating building an entire E-Commerce site with it - that is just too ambitious.
I would suggest you learn some basics first.

Without a basic knowledge of AS3 it will be impossible for you to accomplish that and helping you would mean build almost the entire page for you.

Instead, I suggest you to use a software called Artisteer (artisteer.com). This software will build all the HTML for you and insert flash effects as well.

Then all you have to do is edit the content and paste the PayPal, Google, etc code inside your template's code.

Hope it helps!

If you are serious about starting up a business, I suggest doing one of the following:

Hire someone with strong web programming background or look for a company that creates what you are looking for. If you have no programming experience, it will take a lot of time to make one.
Buy books and learn. I suggest buying a book about AS3, HTML/CSS/Javascript, database/SQL, and a server side scripting language like PHP. You won't create everything from scratch
Buy an AS3 book and learn it. Then use a CMS that supports addon/plugin/interface for interacting with flash.

First of all to learn a language, php or asp. If not, also was able to understand open source, so that sites can be built.

Can I recommend an open source content management system like joomla or drupal.

Your don't need massive amounts of knowledge and they work really well for most needs.

I would'nt recommend using solely flash for a business based website - I've heard that SEO is more powerful in an xhtml/php/java based site. Plus if not mistaken (please correct me if wrong) but Mac don't support flash currently for Iphone or Ipad - This may put some developers off the idea of flash based projects

Even though iPhone and iPad doesn't support flash, one should not build a professional website for both purposes. Your web page should be able to reconize browser accessing the page and redirect the content based on OS, browser and compatibility, specially for mobile users.
Also, flash based sites has to be wrapped into HTML to be displayed correctly. Even so, one could use deep-link to make it SEO friendly.
