really cool integration of video and flash

How is this done, any ideas?

Click on "high" to enter the site, then click on skip intro, then there will be a menu made up of squares... I think you can just click on any of them, and it will pull up a video clip. Press play.

I think it's really neat how they integrate the video clips into the flash movie, and I'm not quite sure how they are doing it. Is this just an AVI imported into another flash movie loaded with loadMovie or something? Any ideas?

Hmm not sure how they did, but it was REALLY SWEET!! :) I wish I'd made a site like that for someone like RObbie.. :) Bet whoever made that got some cash :)

mpeg movie

Just import an mpeg into an swf (at quality setting of 90)

NOTE: setting quality to 100 will make your swf huge and there isn't much difference in quality... you might even consider going down to 80.

in your main movie
================
import a background for the movie (i just made one in photoshop with diagonal lines)
set up an empty clip to load the movie into
(set your clip's alpha to 70 - so you can see the background image)
load into your main movie using loadMovie
Set up your loaders and play heads

But the only problem is.. Robbie Williams already did this.. :) But it's really nice anyways.. it might come in handy some day..

One problem though.. why doesn't it autoplay?

And on Robbies site, the 4 "windows" got some kind of bevel effect, so that it looks like 4 tv screens.. not just a grid..

But I like your demo anyway :)

Yeah, I know it's been done, I just thought it was cool enough to post the source code if anyone wanted to learn how to do it. (Or you could try asking the makers of the robbie site for the source code - good luck with that!) I didn't bother with getting to detailed (i.e. the bevel) because it's just a "how to" demo.

you asked why it doesn't auto-play, I didn't set it up to auto-play. I was just trying to make a demo like the robbie site so people could see how it's done...

And what girl are you talking about?? In the video? Dude, that's John Mayer... you know (grammy award winning John Mayer). It's probably some very high paid actress...
