Secure Socket Layer (SSL) -- PHP

SSL protocol... how do i use that

in other words a URLS that begin with https:// rather than http://

.....

Is there an example out there that deals w/ that using PHP?

I want to use the secure attribute of the cookie.

which I don't know how....dag....
I'm using LINUX....ok...i guess there is now linux gurus here.
