I use the Flash AS editor. Does any one else?
Sometimes I use DreamWeaver.
I wanted to use FlashBuilder but I don't have the money to buy it.

Why would you use NotePad or other editors?
At this point I need the text coloring to help me debug the code and see that I am spelling thing right.
Should I be use something else if I am trying to get an AS Dev job?
Thank you

CS5 has made its code editor stand much stronger than any previous version... that said, I still would rather use FlashDevelop.

An external code editor is useful from just the simple standpoint that if the Flash IDE crashes (and we know that never happens ;) ) you don't lose all your open code as well. Further, the project panel and tools in CS5 still pale next to FlashDevelop (and I hear that Flash Builder is great too, but I have little experience with it).

Well, I use TextMate on Mac to work with Flash project whereas I use FlashBuilder to work with Flex project... So, yes, use TextMate for AS editing... ;)

Go VIM + NERDTree + there's been a syntax highlighter for AS... it will be tough for the first few months, but then you'll learn how to use it, and you will never look back :) Kiddin. But that's what I've ended up doing... on the other hand, my typing speed improves every day...

PS. You can even combine it with mc!
