confused in flash

Hello,
i was trying to find a way in flash on how to manage my file with movieclips , this problem i am facing since when i started work in MX, and it happens in each and every file i created.

when i create a file with multiple movie clips running at a time, it slows the movie, and the processor speed goes upto 100%. I can easily watch the each and and every frame running afater another which is really distrubing. I think its a problem with movie clips, but i have read in flash help that movie clips make the file size better and speed up the movie,

With this problem i cannot chnage the FPS also. its at default '12'

I have seen other running movies on net. but never saw this problem.


is there anyone who can help me out?

Howdy and Welcome... ;)

I think you have some sort of infinite loop in your movie... Can you check on that??? Can you post a sample if you cannot find one??? We don't want to see your whole movie... Just create a little sample and post it... I think it should be easy since that happens to you all the time when you use movieclip...

Can you create an example and post it here???

I am saying create a sample so that you might be able to find the error by yourself and reduce the file size... ;)

Hi Huma,

Well i have downloaded your sample.zip file and have checked the .fla file also. There is no problem in it, i am running it on 40 fps and its running well. The thing which have designed (Lines) it looks good if it moves at fast pace. it doesn't look good on 12fps. Now to your problem, as there is no actionscript involved so i see no chance of infinite loop, other thing could be that you might be running some other softwares while working on FLASH like Photoshop etc. which cousumes a lot of memory. Try to run this program only and check your SWF then. Or it could be that there are lot of Memory resident programs running on your PC which makes your PC slow and. Hope this might help.

i agree with the last post... what are the specs on your cpu??

i have a gig of ram so it runs quite nicely on my cpu.... btw 20 to 24 frames is about the most you wanna go... as people with less than average cpus will not be able to view and see things as one with a superfast cpu would

my configuration are 950processor speed, mecury mother board, 256MB RAM, and 40 GB drive with 2000 professional OS running.

i have made it all in movie clips, but in the end when i published and run that on net, it was slow enough to play. just becuase of this i had to remove this movie from actual site. :(

I also want to play the file with 20-30 FPS but with this problem i simply cant ...

Hi,

I have seen the link which you have gave on the FORUM, it's working fine with me. I have seen the site also. The movieclip which you are talking about is running perfect on my PC. One more thing maybe your Internet connection is slow that's why the movieclip is running slow on your PC, but there is a preloader in the beginning so that should not be the problem. Well one more thing i am interested in that LINES EFFECT running on that page, do you have the .FLA of that, can you give me or if you know the place where can i get the tutorial of that EFFECT i will be obliged. As for your problem, i really dunno coz the link is working perfect on my machine and looks good on the site also.
