Here are some things my minds just wondering and wandering off about.

1. What are the best scripts to use on a forum?
2. What do you look for best in a forum?
3. How could one put things onto a new server from an old one,so that the old forum posts will still be there but still its a whole new forum.
4. What makes a forum a good forum?
5. What's your favorite kind/type of server?

Thanks..

1. What are the best scripts to use on a forum?

That will depend on the server platform language you choose. I'm sure there's some out there you can find for examples.

2. What do you look for best in a forum?

No advertisements, or at least very few - maybe a side bar and another at the bottom. Avatars are nice, as are signatures. Allowing (within reason) videos and graphics in posts.

3. How could one put things onto a new server from an old one,so that the old forum posts will still be there but still its a whole new forum.

As long as you can output the database contents into a readable format by the 'new' database on the new server, you should be good.

4. What makes a forum a good forum?

Premarily interaction with other folks. But if your search and posting scripts or server is slow, that tends to bother folks.

5. What's your favorite kind/type of server?

ASP and ASP.NET. Why, b/c that's what I have available to me at work and it's all I've ever used. So, I can't really say it's my favorite.
