another sound issue

I really don't know if this is newbie stuff or not, but here I go...

I am trying to make a movie player. i would like it to play an .avi and a mp3 in the background. I can get it to do that much, but when i try to do more complicated things like mute the mp3 it also mutes the sound on the .avi. i've searched and searched for my answer. I have got to be doing something stupid. Any help? here's what i've got so far. Link (http://jr.osuairport.org/flash/coolother.fla)

Well I didn't do it on purpose. When i submitted my browser gave an error screen, so i went back and did it again. Sorry.
