Controlling Movie from Child

I have a movie clip in my 1st frame. At the end of that move clip I want it to go to scene 2 and play it. Of course I know how to do this from the main stage or the _root, but can I do it from a movie clip??

But if you're wanting to go to a new scene, you should probably use _root as scenes are called from the main stage aren't they?
