Android Game Dev, MOUSE_DOWN slows the game down

Hey guys

I am creating a game in as3 and i am porting it over to Android, i have done this before but it seems that the MOUSE_DOWN event is causing the game to slow down quite alot. I am testing in the Adobe Device Central CS5 and using the HTC Desire HD.

It seems to me that the action of having a button pressed down on the screen causes the game to slow what ever i do.

Any recomendations?

Have you tried using TouchEvent.TAP instead?

thanks for the reply, i tried TouchEvent.TOUCH_TAP, but it doesnt register in Device Central. I am pretty sure all the graphics are optimized as well as they can be as if i just move my chatacter with one CLICK event it moves nice and smooth.
