basic smooth animation

i have a very basic question...

if i make a simple animation moving a ball or any graphic from right to left...

for this i place my graphic (ball) on right side of stage on frame 1 .
then moved to left side on frame 10 or 20 ...and applied motion tween...
why the animation is not as smooth as it should be...
why there are little jerks in that....

is any body have any trick or something for that,,,

basically it depends on your framerate

if this animation is going from left to right, letz say 500 pixel, you put the keyframe on frame 10 - with a framerate of 10, it would make a step of 50 pixel ever 0.1 second
if you make the same animation on frame 20 with 10 fps, it d move 25 pixel per 0.1 second, already smoother, but slower
if you put the keyframe on frame 10 with 50 fps, itd move 10 pixel per 0.1 second- and so forth

so quite simple ;)
