i'm sure we've all seen the numerous threads on scrollPane, but here's a new twist.

i have a scroll pane, attached inside of a movieclip. inside that is a singular content clip. that clip is then populates with various text fields, media images, etc depending on the content loaded in from XML.

all is well at this point. wait for all the goodies to load, refresh the pane and bang, scrolling away.

the item i'm having problems with is when loading in an swf. when i load in an swf everything is good until i refresh the pane. the text fields around it and the swf all load in and display, sans scrolling. then i refresh the pane and *poof* they're gone.

here's a trace from my debugging

currContent XML:
<group oid="knet-EC_2_group022">
<mediaobject oid="EC_2_mo002">
<RECORD>
<GENERAL>
<TITLE />
</GENERAL>
</RECORD>
<videoobject oid="EC_2_vo002" type="default">
<RECORD>
<GENERAL>
<TITLE />
</GENERAL>
</RECORD>
<videodata fileref="fractal.swf" mimetype="application/x-shockwave-flash" />
</videoobject>
</mediaobject>
</group>

the strange thing is that the scroll bar updates and acts as though all of the info is there. the only problem is you can't see it.

visibility is true and alpha is 100%. z-index is above the background.

any ideas?

ok, it's not swf files in general, it's this particular flash file.

for some reason this one is getting loaded in wrong. it inflates the width and height by 2x.

*sigh*

i hate bad data.
