View Full Version : sound conflicts?

I am building a multi scene movie, loading various music loops into different scenes as event sounds and then inserting stopallsounds onto buttons or actions when the user jumps from scene to scene.

However, as I test the thing I am getting more and more conflicts building up, whereby sounds keep on playing or even sounding as though they are building up over each other, even though yesterday it was all working correctly and no changes have been made????????????? I have checked through the action stopallsounds and none have been missed.

Anyone met this problem before and got any pointers? Every time I test the movie it gets worse, yet I havent changed anything.

I am distinctly puzzled!!

It seems your sounds are loading on top of one another and that makes flash play all the sounds no matter what. It's hard to fix it with out looking at it. Can you post the Flash File here?

:)
My original file is nearly 16,000kb large as this a large presentation to go out on CD, so I don't think anyone will thank me for posting the file up here!!

I have been tearing my hair out all day on this one as I knew no sound was loaded without being unloaded before going onto the next screen using stopallsounds, but I think it has come down to a completely different problem with a couple of the buttons. I had originally copied a couple of buttons and then changed their perameters for the new button. When I take those out and redo them from scratch - it all seems to work and the sound behaves itself!

Anyone give me any further guidence on an obvious faux pas on the buttons - I would be grateful!!
Does anyone know if there are limits on the number/total size of sound files that can be loaded into one movie? I did find in the last presentation that I had exceeded a total frame count that I didnt even know existed, but had all sorts of interesting effects on the animation!

Thanks for your answer. Julia

Are the sounds all in one movie and you are loading them into the main movie or are they all in the same main movie? Can you give a little more detail?

this is all one movie, different scenes.
if you test an individual scene - it was all OK but when the whole movie was loaded thats when the conflicts occured.
Even to the point that the first scene has a skip button - skipping to the end of the scene with various buttons leading onto other scenes. When you skipped to those last frames music started playing that hadnt even been loaded at that point as it didnt load until one of those last buttons had been released linking onto another scene and the music loaded in frame 10 of the new scene!
However, when I redid all of those last buttons the problem seemed to unglich - even tho none of the buttons had any sound attached.
Still puzzled as to how it occured, hopefully it will work now - tho I still have new areas and sounds to add so fingers crossed!

Thanks for your help
