Targeting Flash from ASP

Can this be done? What I am trying to achieve is this. I have a members area on my site and have written and asp script to check usernames and passwords from the db. This works fine. What I want to happen is that when the asp checks the username and password, if they are correct I want to move my flash movie onto the next frame.

I have thought of several methods I could try to get this to work. I thought of setting up a loop in flash to check whether my login variable = yes and if it did redirect the movie to the next frame. I set up my asp script to send the variable back to Flash to make login=yes but it fails to move the movie onwards.

Has anyone got something like this to work? Its probably real easy and I am missing something but its got me stumped so far. Any help would be appreciated.

make a 3 frame loop and in the first frame put:
loadVariables("your.asp","")

in the third frame put:
if(go == true){
gotoAndPlay(4);
} else {
gotoAndPlay(1);
