hi there..
ive been trying to get an effect like the one in "the Crow" movie!

when the crow guy lights a fire and makes a nice burning draw of a crow..
the fire start in a point and follows the contour of the draw and makes it all be on fire...

anyone have any nice idea how to achieve this effect wih flash?

i made a simple fire effect, but duplicating that for every point in the draw is sloow..
any ideas?
thanks in advance

Use a mask. You make one big fire effect and mask it with another layer, then you draw the shape in (gradually) on the masking layer...

you mean making my fire effect the size of the crow
and then where the sparks pass, it will show the fire.. with masking?

needs a big fire effect behind the crow symbol.. is that it what u mean?

could work, my problem is how will i do it for a 3D object?

i wanna make a cube to burn its lines (wireframe)
it starts in sum side and will gradually burn until it is burning all lines..

one more question.. is it possible to calculate Camera in flash?
transforming a 3d object by camera matrix so i could have a eye in a 3d world? :)

thanks in advance

You can't do camera angles without some complex maths and I'm not the person to ask about that. There's a thread which discusses the Matrix camer thing and examples of where to find out how to do it and stuff if you do a search.

i know about camera transformations.. i come from C++ and 3d coding.. just trying to find nice and fast ways to achieve sum effects with flash..
thinking flash is a bit diff :) but ill get there..
i still havent got to work out this crow effect :/
i have done masking, and sum other effects and stuff, still cant see how will this work out
