Changing background colour during movie

I am new at flash MX so bare with me. I have done a short animation. no actionscript as like i said im just starting out. In this animation there is a couple of links and words which i will be also changing the colour of. But io want the animation to flicker from a white background,then to a black background then back to white. i want it to do it a few times like its flicker-ing. please can some one help - many thanks

I don't know exactly what you want to achieve but maybe you can put a filled rectangle onto the stage which is exactly the size of the stage and do a color-tween?
