This is defintiely a cool navigation, I liked it.
//critique 1
Projects within the "Motion" area didn't really fall under the popular definition of motion design. While there certainly is some animation taking place, I wouldn't categorize these projects as such.
//critique 2
The "Visual" projects were undefined and somewhat obscure. The layout was consistent to the design, but maybe the text links could have read what the projects actually were, as opposed to a numbering system.
//critique 3
There was nothing to be found upon entering the "Other" section. Perhaps, if you actually intend to fill in this area later but have no content to offer curretnly, you may want to add a "Coming Soon" sign or something of that nature.
I did like the originality of the navigation, it was a nice change of pace from the angular, futuristic style that predominates today's design culture. As my girlfriend would say: "It's bangin'"
Thanks a lot
yes i was going to put a coming soon sign, probably on a post it note.
And i Agree with your comment about the visual section, need to think of something for that
and what would you suggest instead of "motion"?

To take the place of "Motion" you'd want to use a general term that each of those designs would fall under ("Design" isn't too bad), maybe "Portfolio", "Interactive" or even "Flash" might work.
alright, thanks ill do that.

site rocks! great graphics and easy to use

you start out fresh
listen junior (or should that be freshman, oh that is so sophmoric), in my day we started out in the snow, walking uphill into a headwind with driving snow that stung your eyes . . .
subquark turns away, with his Masters degree and heads off to teach another geology class in an auditorium classroom with 103 students . . . at the largest community college in the world
:p ;)

:eek: you doubt me? stand-by for a lightning bolt!!! :D
well, I am from Quebec and as a kid did enjoy many a fine snow storms and power failures (yeah, gov't owned eletrical monopolies suck when they go on strike and you live in the country and it takes 3 weeks to get your power and heat restored, no joke and very embarassing as a citizen of Canada).
but, yep, I've got a Masters degree in Geoscience from U. Texas (that and a lot of help from CyanBlue, Retrotron, BillyT and Red Penguin and I can almost get a ball to move accross the screen with actionscript) :p
yep, I am also an adjunct college professor at Miami-Dade Community College (enrollment of 176,000+) and often have classes of 100. but the good thing is that the big classes are in multimedia auditoriums and I can do flash presentations! :)
so I guess you figured out that I don't care about your GPA and that I really do think your site is well laid out :D
do good!!
