was that supposed to be a comical site? Because I'm laughing too hard right now! :p some of them were way too obvious! When I was really really new to flash, I was going to copy www.battleengine.com to see how alike i could make it, just as a challenge though, not as a site. :p

Haha I know it's not suposed to be funny but it is. There's that article about BYU's newspaper stold their site design, I got there and allwayse thought it was odd that they won since BYU has probaly some of the worst Website design classes. The classes are through the humanites deparment (the English people) and not the graphic design deparment.

takes taking a little of looking @ nicely designed sites for inspiration a little too far
when everything but the content is dif

like the netmology sites.. their 100 % carbon copy design of each other

Very good site, but I don't agree with most of them. Some of them are clear rips but they have posted some crap. Which the sites are no way intended to be the same. Lets remember that online their are thousands and thousands of designers, design teams, studios, begginners etc etc so ideas and site design is going to clash. I think sites who downgrade other online media are not justifying anything.

Some are totally outragously RIPS but come on, simple site like -

http://www.madeinsthlm.com/ - Apparently ORIGNIAL
http://www.hkhkronprinsen.dk/ - APPARENT RIP

See what I mean? Why bother designing anymore if a site like this is going to submit crap like that?!

i know but theres a question to b asked.. I dunno, Im not a big company, just a student that designs...but waht if a client offfers 500 $ to have the same look and feel exactly like a site... what would u do?

well, i donno what I would do. I try and point out that I make innovative designs. (even if it isn't true ;)) its just, I don't like to download other peoples effects. I do it... because I don't know how to make my own. But I look at everything in the file to see how they did it. Then I can make my own some day.

happened to my first client..when i was like 16
i was like um okay....... but other than one fading effect ... n the style of site.. everythign was redone..

but with the experience I have in webdesign now... I feel it would be neccessary for me to even copy a site no more.. could be inspired...but any elements.. I could easily do better hopefully

Thats the problem with me... I kinda need the experience first.

ya i guess itz fine to try to reproduce menus and other elements of site for your own experience and knowledge.... just draw the line to not do it for your clients
