I'm just watching Black Adder on satellite and there's a commercial break.

They're advertising this 'Abdomiser' thing - they give you electric shocks to supposedly build up muscles.

The ad was really cruddy - it had captions coming out of the screen - 'adjustable belt', 'variable settings', and so on.

The best one was 'electronic components'.

I had visions of competitor models using electric components - you have to walk around with this teak cabinet strapped to your gut that you have to wait for the valves to warm up in first.

And you need a portable generator to run it :)

I'm not sure if any of you would've seen this ad, but its horid! Its for an electric scooter for the elderly. Its called the "Hoveround" or something along that nature. muauauauu I thought I was going to gouge my eyeballs.

We have loads of old people scooters already over here.

I guess they're great for people who need them, but you can't help wonder if their easy availability makes some people infirm before their time

Is this one special in any way?

I know whenever I go to the Co-Op you often can't get inside for all the parked scooters :) I think they're exempt from all forms of highway code.

There are occasional stories in the press where some daft person is stopped on the Motorways in one.

On TV over here we have old people baths (they have a door so you don't have to step into them), the Stanna Stairlift - you sit on a chair to go upstairs (can't help wondering how many houses one would fit into), and old people beds with a remote control so you can make them go all funny shapes (they bend in the middle).

I even saw an old people chair that is also remote controlled and raises the user to a standing position. I always wonder what would happen if one went wrong - p-doinggg. Straight into the front garden.

he he, you two should do a stand-up act! :D Thanks for the cheering up (I'm at my evil day job and get cranky). :)
